The Old School House

By April 1, 2018 April 12th, 2018 No Comments

Nestled in the heart of the New Forest this converted schoolhouse was tired with an overabundance of orange pine, ugly and cold venetian blinds and a floor that felt like a gymnasium. The owners were keen to create a cosy and relaxed guest accommodation that enhanced the building’s architectural elements – whilst keeping to a sensible budget reflecting the occasional use of the space.

The floor and beams were painted in soft off whites, providing an updated neutral canvas for pops of orange and russet from the soft furnishings. The windows were dressed with relaxed linen drapes to cocoon and absorb sound whilst existing sofas were recovered to suit the scheme.
